Forte Childcare helps you grow. But children need more than to just grow, and together we can provide more. Every day, we work with children, parents and educators, and other organisations to develop a foundation for life, and together we can help children truly blossom. If we can, we all grow.

Since 1969, Forte has provided childcare in North Holland, and today has nearly 400 committed, expert staff, caring for approximately 3,000 children every week in daycare centres, before/after-school programmes and special centres for toddlers.

We are located in Akersloot, Alkmaar, Bakkum, Bergen, Castricum, Egmond-Binnen, Egmond aan Zee, Graft-De Rijp, Heerhugowaard, Heiloo, Middenbeemster, Schoorl, Stompetoren, West-Graftdijk en Zuidoostbeemster.

We offer

  • Out-of-school childcare (before and after school and during holidays) (4 – 12 years)

Our professional staff contribute to the development of children. Every day, they offer children a safe environment in which they feel welcome and can be themselves.

For Children

We offer children a safe environment in which they feel welcome. They can be themselves with us. We encourage children to be the best they can be and to prepare themselves for the future and reach their full potential ‒ which they can do with courage in today’s challenging world.

We provide

  • Experienced Englisch speaking teaching staff who give careful attention to your child.
  • A unique range of workshops and activities that are designed with the age and interests of the children in mind and create a meaningful environment and experiences to help the children develop. We work with the VVE programme (early school education) ‘Uk and Puk’, which helps with the broad development in a structured way.

For Parents

Every day, parents can leave their children with us with confidence and trust in our staff. This enables them to have time for their own personal development, be it in work, education or something else. We give parents room to grow.

We provide

  • Warm meals for children
  • A flexible policy for exchanging care days
  • Additional care at a standard rate

Together

Self-development is a necessity in a world that never stands still. We believe this can be achieved if we work together. That’s why we work with municipalities, institutions and schools, to learn from each other and share our knowledge. This helps us to design activities and programmes in connection with the school. In turn, the organisations with which we work use our knowledge and experience for their services. This helps us all grow.

We offer

  • Pedagogical experts in the development of children.
  • Experienced and enthusiastic instructional designers from Kindcentra. We believe in continuity across three levels: education, care and parents, and that children benefit from this collaboration.

Nursery Daycare (0-4 years)

We offer children from 0-4 years all the possibilities to play and learn in a familiar and safe environment, under the guidance of professional teaching staff. The youngest ones develop in specially designed spaces for babies, both indoors and out. Children feel secure in the calmness and routine. Older children also develop through our wide ranges of activities adapted to their age and interests.

Toddler Acadamy

In Bergen we also offer a Toddler Academy, a special toddler group in the age of 2 – 4 years with extra intellectual and creative challenge. The emphasis in the group is on playful and experiential learning. Activities are based on a number of pillars: exercise, creative activities, music, language and math, and social skills. The Toddler Academy is a solid and special preparation for primary school.

Toddler childcare (2-4 years)

Playing is growing! By being active and playing together, toddlers of 2-4 years stimulate their speech and language skills, social-emotional skills and motor and sensory skills. This way we provide a solid foundation for primary education within our toddler care, so that the children can flourish within a continuous learning path and enjoy growing to primary school.

Our pre-school care groups work with the VVE (early-school education) programme Uk & Puk, or from Montessori or IPC (personalized learning).

We focus on

– Social skills, such as playing together and sharing together, are practiced daily.
– Familiarisation with education, thereby removing the threshold to primary education.
– Child participation: The children of our BSOs have a voice and we listen to them.
– The convenience of the Forte Parent Portal and the Forte app so you can observe what your child is doing at Forte.
– A consistent development connection between primary schools, care centres and parents, through intensive cooperation with the affiliated schools.

About Forte

Our own pedagogical STAR values ‒ Together (samen), Talent, Experience and Space (ruimte) ‒ form the basis of our educational policy, with which we contribute to the development of the children. In addition, the policy is based on the educational goals of Riksen-Walraven. The STAR values are the compass for guiding our pedagogical approach; the Forte values drive the daily actions within the Forte organisation. Our mission statement is: “Together, we get the best of ourselves.”

Our values are

  • Safe: Forte provides a safe environment in which to grow and develop.
  • Welcome: By responding to the needs of children and their parents, we make sure that they feel welcome at Forte. We aim to exceed every expectation in this regard.
  • Growth: Forte staff apply all their talent and skills to ensure children and their parents can be their best selves. With us, you can be your true self.
  • Courage: We like to think outside the box and take the initiative to find the right solution for any issues that arise. When we think, know or feel that something can contribute to the development and welfare of a child, we do it.
